After getting a tip from an English teacher, I looked into funding for costume designers. However, I discovered a more engaging part of the story which was how much costumes meant to the thespians and how much extra work teachers are putting in.

At our school, the Muslim population is small. I wanted to write a story on the little known Muslim Student Association group. I found an environment filled with the most accepting students I've ever seen. 

I wanted to get inside of a highly-disputed conservative club, Young Americans Foundation. One of my goals was to provide an objective view in a school where students lean left.
