After several complaints about decisions in the school community such as football themes, event ideas, dance themes, etc., I decided to write an editorial encouraging people to speak their ideas instead of criticizing those who put in hard work. 

In order to combat a board policy that requires approval for surveys, my co-editor-in-chief and I wrote a staff editorial to raise awareness in the student body and the community. 

This year our district decided that everyone would wear purple gowns for graduation instead of different colors for different genders. As a member of the Principal Advisory Council, I was confused why we weren't informed of this decision until it was too late. Additionally, when a member of staff wrote about the change, we found that the administration was giving students false hope. With this editorial I hoped to raise some awareness of how students are being ignored.
